just been in the garden doing a bit of gentle pruning and tying my clematis plants, first two of which are close to blooming. Seems everyone has gone out for the day...the place is so quiet. Feel rather uninspired to write. Very tired. Probably having blood transfusion tomorrow as haemoglobin is low - it will be another 5 hour session (and the rest, always lots of waiting around). Last Friday was a six hour day - a 3 hour infusion of stuff to help with my bladder (still not sorted, and still pretty damn painful) plus blood tests and my pentamadine nebuliser inhaler of filthy bitter stuff to stop me from getting pneumonia. It was a full on and I was exhausted by the time I got home.
Best news to report is that I had a stay of execution as far as Luigi is concerned - he didnt go back last week, but goes tomorrow instead. So we have had a few extra days together. I have just printed out his easyJet boarding pass. I wish I could have printed two. I would give a lot to be flying back with him. I think the earliest I will see him again will be some time in June. So a long haul to be undertaken. And a new chapter to start. Thank god I can make it up the stairs on my own now!
Steroids have given me a bit of a hamster face. They also stop me from sleeping and make me feel sick. So nice bunch of things. Not sure yet whether they will be enough to sort out this auto immune problem. The hospital have had to apply for funding for the next lot of drugs if the steroids don't work. Something called Rituximab which helps in 85% of cases. So that will be the fall back position. But I am keeping my fingers crossed that the steroids do the trick
A little late in the day to celebrate, but united back in their rightful position. Though played pretty miserably since retaining the league. And loosing to Chelsea was dire. But hey - we got the points that counted!
Dull blog. Sorry. Dull head. Luigi just come home and is ferreting about in the fridge...
Thanks, as ever, for lovely positive blog comments, emails and texts. Will be in touch in the next couple of days to all those who have said they will be around for shopping/visiting etc etc. Switching on support systems! Hope your bank holiday is the scorcher they predicted - not so here, but the sun is vaguely out and from my window I can see shadows falling across the daisies. Back soon. tch xxx

Tessa, Your blogs are never dull they help everyone understand what you're going through especially when things are tough!!! Fingers crossed the steroids work, things settle down and you are able to enjoy your garden and walk round Grassmount a bit more!
See you soon, love and hugs always xxx
Ditto to all of the above sentiments!
hugs and purrs from sunny(ish) Sheffield Jules xx
Hope the Ferguson news hasn't been too opsetting on top of everything else. Sun was hot here - but now to be replaced with rain and wind so they say.....GCSEs getting in full swing here, so many biscuits being consumed (by both of us!). Madness at County Council - 15 UKIP make them the 2nd biggest party - hopefully I can exit soon.....Never say your blog is dull-because it never is.lots of love Lisa xx
Hi there
Had a call today to see if I wanted my hearing tested too because of my age). Also a call wanting to know if I'm thinking of selling up (presumabaly to move into retirement home). Blimey I've just finished the renos!
Hope the steroids are doing the trick. Glad Luigi could stay a bit longer. Wish I could come and help.
Thinking of you as always.
Much love Kerry
Dull I don't think so! Big boots to fill at Man U. Never really liked Fergy but suppose I've grown to admire him, will miss his "old man" celebration dance though. Spotted a swallow today(at last), heard the cuckoo and had a Coaltit visit the feeder could this really be spring!! Stay strong Ianx
I did actually write something the other day but didn't work on the iPhone. Completely forgotten what it was. The Bank Holiday in Whitstable was fantastic. Sitting on the sea wall with a pint of draught Kentish lager letting the world slow down. Trying to get into the mind set of making each day like a holiday, even at work. Not letting the minor stuff get to me. Did I say Kellie got a bit of inheritance and an emergency summit was called in the Bishop to discuss the matter? A good night was had although the latter part of the evening I couldn't hear as it got noisy and my right ear can't cope at the moment. I enjoyed stumbling through East Dulwich to West Dulwich afterwards. Been assessing last week and have the external in tomorrow. If the weather holds out down here I'll go down the harbour and have a pint tonight. Then up at 5am for a 5.45am start back to London. Should really go back tonight but that would be against my new philosophy of each day being like a holiday. The undergrads are marking at the moment with the show towards the end of June. Oh! Got home on Friday really early, so cooked Sainsbury's Spicy Seafood Pasta recipe: http://www.sainsburys-live-well-for-less.co.uk/recipes-inspiration/recipes/spicy-seafood-pasta/ Its got Taste the Difference tinned cherry tomatoes – what a novelty! I adapted the recipe to only include the king prawns.
