HOME

Dear all,

Unbelievably came home on Friday afternoon! It all feels very weird after six weeks in hospital. I think it's called institutionilasation. Should feel extatic to be here looking out into my garden, but feel strangely cut off from it all. Also incredibly tired and too full of drugs. They have put me on an anti depressant which will take a few weeks to kick in. Will write more when i am feeling more normal. This blog just to touch base and say that I am back at Grassmount. The garden is full of birds. Back soon tch xxx

Fab news that you are home, wishing you spring's rejuvenating powers, the birds are going mad here today, soon to be joined by the visiting swallows. Their journey is long and hard but always worth it. Stay safe. ianx

Hurray Hurray Hurray! Just like the (Mcgarrigles) song says "When the time comes when I'm feeling better,
I'll be back with the birds in the spring". Welcome back to the nest. Much love, Tina xxx

Hello
just found your blog. We had heard from Diana and Cyril that you have been unwell and we are glad to hear that you are back at home in Grassmount. We often think of you as we walk past Havelock Walk and see your fantastic work on the wall.
Enjoy the birds at the top of the hill and look forward to Spring finally arriving.
We will be thinking of you,
Gary Margaret, Sam and Luke (who used to be at 1 Grassmount and still live just the other side of the hill).

They've just opened a micro-pub in Tankerton (http://www.thetankertonarms.co.uk/index.html). Kellie asked if it was like a micro-pig. Which got me thinking of tiny pints and mini pork scratchings. Might pop in there later on (Good Friday – though given the cold weather Not Bad Friday is more appropriate). Back from a brisk walk down to the harbour. The harbour village (small fisherman huts housing artists and foodies) is open. And The Forge is open which serves Kentish lager – might pop down there later on also which pretty much mounts up to a pub crawl for me, though will probably only be two halves. I've just finished judging the ISTD last weekend (Dave Dabner, Paul Bailey and Eugenie Dodd all from LCC were there as well). The ISTD are legendary drinkers. In the past there was one session where they were up all night and still drinking red wine as people were coming down for breakfast at 8am. I'm a light weight – I have this safety valve which is called falling asleep. I was off to be at 11pm whilst some stayed up to 3.30am! So I'm off for a bit at Easter. Cooked rainbow trout yesterday in a foil parcel with chilli, garlic, ginger, carrot, celery, coriander, spring onions, lime, sesame oil, soy sauce. Served with stir fried noodles and red pepper. Delicious.
